Installing a sewer system and connecting it with Roosevelt City is becoming a closer possibility for Stonegate Subdivision after the approval of further funding for the project. Roosevelt City administration along with representatives from the Duchesne County Commission and TriCounty Health Department traveled to St. George this week to meet with the Utah Division of Environmental Quality’s Water Board, requesting additional funding to install a sewer system in Stonegate Subdivision. The DEQ approved a $2 million dollar grant and a $1.16 million dollar loan. “This brings our total funding to $4 million dollars in grants and $1.66 million dollars in loans all at zero percent interest rate,” shares Roosevelt City. “This was not the amount that the city was hoping or applied for. This equates to approximately 70 percent in grants and 30 percent in loans. The council and those Stonegate residents that voiced their opinions have previously said that if the project was less than 80 percent grant/20 percent  loan, that the loan payments would be unaffordable.” Roosevelt City states that the funding will be discussed in a future Roosevelt City Council meeting and all Roosevelt City residents, including Stonegate residents, are encouraged to attend and offer public input.
