The Uintah County Commission approved bids for upgrades to the Uintah County Jail security system during their Monday meeting. Cache Valley Electric out of Logan was the only company to bid on two separate projects. The company bid $43,907 dollars for jail control security system upgrades to the software and $19,933 dollars for 6 jail medical and pre-booking cameras to be installed. According to Commissioner Mark Raymond, there are currently no cameras in some areas of the jail and recent events have made it absolutely necessary that additional cameras be added for both officer and inmate safety. The 6 cameras will be placed in each of the medical and pre-booking rooms of the jail.
