Union Senior and Skilled Welder Receives Scholarship from Leading Manufacturer

Union High Senior Dalton Van is already a skilled welder thanks to his training at UBTech and is also the recipient of a special scholarship from a leading worldwide manufacturer of welding equipment. Miller Electric Manufacturing LLC announced on Tuesday that Dalton Van is the $5,000 dollar scholarship winner of their Weld-Mask Scholarship Sweepstakes to be used towards his welding education. Dalton will graduate this month from Union High and has also earned his 990 advanced welding certificate from UBTech. He represented UBTech at the SkillsUSA competition this year and qualified for the national competition next month. The scholarship will make a real difference for Dalton as he plans to attend Utah State University Eastern to study welding engineering. “This is why the scholarship means so much to me,” shares Dalton. “I don’t know that I could afford secondary schooling without the help of scholarships.” A representative from Miller Electric Manufacturing will present Dalton with his check today at UBTech.
