Uintah Student/Athlete of the Week


The Uintah High School Student of the Week is Kelcey Lammert, nominated by Ms. Niccole Franc. “Kelcey Lammert is such a hard worker,” shares Ms. Franc. “She is always willing to dive into problems that she doesn’t know how to solve and find new, interesting ways to solve them. Students in my class look to her as an example of a motivated student.” Congratulations Kelcey Lammert, Uintah Student of the Week. The Ute Athlete of the Week is wrestler Gavin Ayotte, nominated by Coach Gregg Stensgard. “Gavin started the high school season off getting everyone’s attention,” shares Coach Stensgard. “Gavin placed 3rd at the Layton Invitation, losing to the top-ranked 106 wrestler in the state in a close and controversial match.” Since then, Gavin has dominated everyone he has faced and has a 9-1 record so far this season. Congratulations Gavin Ayotte, Ute Athlete of the Week.

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
