Uintah Student/Athlete of the Week

The Uintah High School Student of the Week is Alexanndria Veibell, nominated by Mrs. Jackie Colton. “Alex is excited to learn and creates connections with everything she reads,” shares Mrs. Colton. “She is a voracious reader and loves to share her insights and thoughts in discussion and in writing. Alex is respectful, polite, and friendly in the classroom and is a great example to her peers.” Congratulations Alexanndria Veibell, Uintah Student of the Week. The Ute Athlete of the Week is girls’ basketball team member Tawny Valdez, nominated by Coach Joe Meanea. “Tawny does a great job on and off the floor of leading the team,” shares Coach Meanea. “She has worked hard on her game and it showed in the red/white game with her ability to handle the ball and she shot it very well, too.” Congratulations Tawny Valdez, Ute Athlete of the Week.

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
