The Uintah School District has launched a new community recognition program. The Team Uintah program, launched this school year, has recognized a variety of individuals and community partners for their support of local education. “We are trying to create unity in our district and move in the same direction as a team,” shares Superintendent Mark Dockins. “It takes more than just teachers and students for education to be a success so we are recognizing all the things the community has done to support education.” In recent weeks, Team Uintah has recognized Kam Pope and the 7-11 Ranch Restaurant family, DeArmon Batty and the Basin Sports family, Lisa Ewell and the Wendy’s Restaurant family, and Utah Teacher of the Year Aaryn Birchell. This week, Team Uintah thanked Steve Evans and the KVEL team for giving the Uintah School District “a voice in our community.” Evans accepted the recognition on behalf of the staff, stating that his team “works together to support youth activities, student recognition, internships, and high school sports.”
