Uintah High School Student/Athlete of the Week

The Uintah High School Student of the Week is Bailey Stone nominated by Mrs. Robin McClellan. “Bailey is involved in Mountain Biking Club and spent her summer helping others by going to Guatemala on a humanitarian project and also cared for a young niece and nephew,” shares McClellan. “She is always smiling, helpful, and has a great attitude in class.” Congratulations Bailey Stone, Uintah Student of the Week. The Ute Athlete of the Week is soccer player Elsha Lance nominated by Coach John Nerdin. “Elsha has been an integral part of our team playing in the central mid position,” shares Coach Nerdin. “She was always where we needed her, whether that be fighting for loose balls or linking plays between the defense and the offense. Always aggressive, you can count on Elsha to push harder and inspire her team to join her in the fight.” Congratulations Elsha Lance, the Ute Athlete of the Week.

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
