Uintah High School Student and Athlete of the Week

The Uintah High School Student of the Week is James John, nominated by Mrs. Robin McClellan. “James works hard in class, and is polite, respectful, and an attentive listener in a large class,” shares Mrs. McClellan. “He is open to trying new things and is so teachable.” Congratulations James John, Uintah Student of the Week. The Ute Athlete of the Week is drill team member Nichole Conduff, nominated by Coach Alysse Smuin. “Nichole is a hardworking member of our team,” shares Coach Smuin. “She is only a junior but was selected as one of our dance captains. She gives much attention to detail and is willing to put in extra time helping coaches and teammates. Nichole helps push and motivate our team every day with her fiery determination.” Congratulations Nichole Conduff, Ute Athlete of the Week.

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
