Uintah County Trails Master Plan Making Progress

by | Jan 17, 2018 | News | 0 comments

Plans on the Uintah County Trails Master Plan continues forward and a public meeting is scheduled in the coming weeks to gather further input from the public. Last spring, the trails committee held several public hearings that contributed to the work that has been done in the many months since. One tool that has been helpful as the committee gathers data from the public is the STRAVA app. The free app is used as a running and cycling GPS tool but what is unique is it also shows the trails and paths that are being used locally. The members of the trails committee are able to view the data and see which trails are utilized more or less. Another thing in the works is a wayfinding system for local outdoor recreation sites thanks to a grant from the State Office of Outdoor Recreation. The next public meeting is scheduled for February 6th from 6 to 8pm at the USU building in Vernal.
