Uintah County Commission Recap

It was a quick meeting on Monday for the Uintah County Commission. Among the few business items handled, the Commissioners gave their approval and authorized signatures for the application of the Department of Workforce Services Housing Community Development Homelessness funding grant. The application is requesting $75,000 to go towards the Turning Point Shelter. Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins explained that it is unknown if and what amount may be approved. During the meeting, the Commission also appointed Shane Frost to the board of the Uintah Water Conservancy District to finish the term of Vernon Richens who passed away in March. Before the meeting dispersed, Uintah County Librarian Sam Passey invited all to attend the Uintah County Library’s 111th birthday party on Monday from noon to 5pm.
