Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra Expanding; Seeking Auditions

by | Aug 8, 2018 | News | 0 comments

The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra is taking the plunge and expanding beyond string instruments. Organization director Brad Vanfleet made the announcement this week inviting all youth instrumentalists to audition. This season the organization is looking to add all woodwind instruments, brass, and percussion. This includes flute, clarinet, oboe, trumpet, french horn, tuba, trombone, and drums. All string instrumentalists are also invited to audition. There is no minimum age requirement to audition as long as the youth can pass the skills test. The audition will include playing a piece of their choice and some sight reading. This season the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra will have special clinics from faculty of BYU, Weber State, USU, and UVU. The group will also perform at Abravanel Hall.
