UBTech students are proving their professional skills on a national stage. Four students who competed at the National SkillsUSA event came out with wins. “We have a national medalist and three returning champions who improved their placement over last year,” shares UBTech vice president of Instruction Tammy Wilkerson. “Three of four of our UBTech students were among the top ten in the nation with two of them ranking in the top five. They all should be very proud of their success and accomplishments. I know we are,” says Wilkerson. National SkillsUSA has over 6,200 contestants in 100 different events. Dalton Van won the silver medal in the welding competition as a rookie. This is three consecutive years that UBTech welders were eligible to compete at the Welding World Trials. The three other winners were State Gold Medalists Madison Bulloch in Medical Terminology, Jaylen Reary in Cabinetmaking, and Mason Holmes in Electrical Construction Wiring.
