Trees for Charity Spots Filling Up Fast

If you’re hoping to submit a tree in the Trees for Charity event next month, you better hurry and get an application in. The Vernal Area Chamber has started accepting applications and time is of the essence for those hoping for a spot, shares Chamber Director Joel Brown. There will be 40 trees this year. “They fill up fast,” shares Brown. “It is such a success year after year due to the generosity of our community.” Even with the slowed economy, generous community members have continued to show support for local charities year after year. Last year’s event raised over $220,000 dollars with a Star Wars themed tree for Corbin Dansie securing the highest bid going for $12,000 dollars only to be put in for a second round in which it sold again for $7,000 dollars. Sixty charities benefitted from last year’s event.
