Summer Reading Program Parties Every Thursday

The Uintah County Library is striving to get children and teens (even the adults) involved in reading during the summer. As ‘A Universe of Stories’ summer reading program starts to kick off, mark your calendars for Thursdays. Every Thursday the library will host a party to get the residents of the Basin involved with something new. The activities are designed to encourage growth and learning. Last week’s Star Wars themed party had a huge turnout of around 600 people. It is at these parties that families can choose from the stock incentives to earn as they participate in the reading program. Families are more than welcome to dress up for each event. The theme for June 13th is Superheroes Day, June 20th is Invasion of the Library, and June 27th is I Survived the Wild West!

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
