Stranded and Missing Snowmobilers Safe Thanks to Search and Rescue

Three separate incidents of stranded snowmobilers in recent days required the help of Search and Rescue. According to Wasatch County Search and Rescue, 9-1-1 was called by a female who was sledding in the Strawberry area
on Tuesday evening around 6:42pm
but who had become stranded. “She was sledding alone and became stuck in the snow,” shares Search and Rescue. “She could not extract her snowmobile and called for help.” The search team was able to locate her and help her get safely back at the trailhead at Daniels Summit. A second stranded snowmobiler called 9-1-1
on Monday around 6:00pm
after becoming stuck in the snow and getting lost while walking. The snowmobiler, who was a male in his mid-20s, had started at Daniels Summit area and was picked up south of Wallsburg in Wasatch County. The third snowmobiler went missing in the West Fork of the Duchesne area on Saturday. 9-1-1 was called about
9:20pm
. The 48-year-old male was located by the DPS chopper that was helping with the search. Great job to all the search and rescue teams!
