Sexual Assault at Remember the Maine Park

The investigation is ongoing for a sexual assault incident that occurred at Remember the Maine Park in Dry Fork Canyon late on the night of Sunday, July 26th. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, an adult female was by herself near Ashley Creek when she was attacked from behind by a “tall, dark haired male wearing a red shirt and jeans or khakis.” The woman was able to get free from the attacker and fled the area in her vehicle. Law enforcement was notified the next day and responded to Remember the Maine after obtaining information from the victim. Sheriff’s detectives ask that anyone with information regarding this incident or who was in the area of Remember the Maine on the night of July 26th, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at
