Serious Accident Near Colorado Border Closes Highway 40 Wednesday Evening

Miraculously no lives were lost in a serious accident on Highway 40 near the Colorado border
on Wednesday evening
. According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Todd Royce, an accident occurred about 10 miles west of the state line at approximately
5:37pm
when a pickup truck crossed the center line and hit an oncoming semi head on. “The initial report is the driver in the truck was having a medical issue though that is to be determined,” shares Lt. Royce. Highway 40 was closed for nearly 2 hours, reopening
around 7:30pm
. The pickup truck driver and two passengers received serious but not life threatening injuries, says Lt. Royce, and the semi driver was not reported to have serious injuries.
