A case of a 16-year-old Roosevelt runaway has gained some attention since making Wasatch Front headlines over the weekend.

Fox13Now.com

shared the report that the 16-year-old boy had run away from home with a 24-year-old woman. An interview with the boy’s mother revealed that the boy and woman were allegedly in a relationship and had hit the road when police were searching where they had been staying. The mother also said the woman had three children under the age of five that she left behind to run away with her son. On Monday, Roosevelt City Police announced that the runaway youth was safe and that the “other party mentioned in the news is cooperating with the investigation.” Social media chatter has asked if the woman in question will be charged the same as a man would be in the same situation.
