Roosevelt Fire Department Urges Extreme Caution With Fireworks

The Roosevelt Fire Department is urging extreme caution with fireworks this year. They have provided a map posted on the Roosevelt City Facebook page that shows the high risk areas within Roosevelt City and is asking that no fireworks be used in any of the Red section of the map. Yellow areas are also considered high risk and green areas may also be dangerous. The state of Utah allows fireworks to go on sale
on June 24th
and citizens are allowed to light them
on July 2nd
, 3rd, 4th, and 5th
from 11am to 11pm
. The exception is
on the 4th of July
, fireworks can be set off
until midnight
. In celebration of Pioneer Day, fireworks are allowed
on July 22nd
, 23rd, 24th, and 25th with the exception of
July 24th until midnight
. “To reduce the risk of fire,” shares Roosevelt Fire Department, “make sure that you only light fireworks near wet grass or pavement. Do not light fireworks near any dry, open field…While it is legal to light fireworks this summer, it is considered a very high risk.” All that choose to use fireworks are urged to use caution.
