Road Work Planned in Ashley National Forest

Ashley National Forest has announced plans for road work in September and October. Work is scheduled for the Blind Stream Road(Forest Service Road 135) from


September 7th through the 12th


. Crews will be using “a mobile rock crusher to crush larger rocks and create a new road base” in order to improve “wash boards and road surface between the South Fork of Rock Creek Bridge towards the Rock Creek Trailhead.” Work will begin on the Sheep Creek Geological Loop Road(Forest Service Road 218) beginning


September 12th


and will last for about six weeks. Work will include the widening and paving of the lower portion of the road. Delays can be expected during both projects.
