Road to Lake Canyon

A dirt road in Duchesne County is a headache for surrounding neighbors sick of dealing with the dust. According to Duchesne County Commissioner Ron Winterton, there is a lot of oil field activity on the road to Lake Canyon and in the past the oil field companies used to provide dust suppression but no longer do. “Now that the companies are not doing it, the residents want the County to do it,” shares Winterton. “We would love to but unless we have some partnerships on it we don’t have the funds for what is needed to control the dust.” During the Commissioners’ discussion on the topic earlier this month, it was agreed that the County could grade the road but that there is no option to widen or pave it.
