“It was his duty to serve. It is our duty to remember.” Nearly 10 years ago, the life of a local hero was lost during a Search and Rescue operation. Uintah County Sheriff’s Detective Kevin Orr was killed in a helicopter crash while coordinating a search effort from the air. At 34 years old, he was a devoted husband and father to four children, children who are now inviting the community to join with their family a decade later to remember their dad. “We remember our dad every single day,” shares Detective Orr’s oldest daughter Jessica. “Sometimes it feels like he is forgotten but we know that he is not which is why we wanted to do something special for his 10-year angel day.” That something special will be a community memorial program on

. “This will be a short program to remember his life as a police officer as well as a dad and husband,” explains Jessica, who says she just recently found out that her dad would sometimes work 70 or more hours a week. “I was just floored because it felt like he was home a lot, playing with us and spending time with us. He was a man who had his priorities straight.” All are invited to come remember the life of this wonderful man on
