Red Fleet Renovation

Red Fleet State Park will be getting a facelift next year thanks to a grant from the State Parks. According to Park Manager Mike Murray, a 2 million dollar grant will be used for the renovation effort that is scheduled to begin construction next spring. While the plans do not make the campsite any larger, they will greatly improve camping infrastructure and facilities. “We will have two campground loops with better access for campers for pull in and back out sites,” shares Murray. “Restrooms with showers will be installed and pavilions will also be replaced with new, larger ones.” Perhaps most exciting is the plan to add more of a beach area. There is some beach now but the renovation will add more sand for a small beach in the area near the boat ramp for campers and visitors to enjoy.
