Record Fish Caught on Flaming Gorge

If you’ve always dreamed of catching a record size fish then get yourself to Flaming Gorge Reservoir! The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources announced this week that a record 48-inch lake trout was caught at Flaming Gorge last month by a lucky angler named Matt Smiley. What does this have to do with your dream? Well the massive trout was caught and released so he’s still out there waiting for you and maybe he’ll even have grown in the meantime. The 48-inch fish is the current catch-and-release state record for lake trout. Congratulations Matt Smiley on an exciting catch!
