Pine Tree Fire Burns Over 4,400 Acres in Western Moffat County

Northwest Colorado has been hit hard the last few weeks by wildfire. The latest is the lightning caused Pine Tree Fire which started
Saturday afternoon
in western Moffat county and grew to over 4,400 acres by
Sunday night
. Moffat County Road 57 from Highway 40 to the Rio Blanco county line was closed and crews are aggressively working to battle the blaze though at last report the fire was considered zero percent contained. The Big Red Fire that started August 19th just miles south of the Colorado/Wyoming state line is considered 15 percent contained and as last reported at 2,931 acres.
