People Attempting to Enter Areas Near Dollar Ridge Fire Warned to Stay Out

Officials are offering a firm reminder to the public on staying out of restricted areas near the Dollar Ridge Fire. Utah Fire Info shares that safety officers assigned to the fire noted an increase on Thursday of people attempting to enter areas near the fire. “Please be aware that you put yourself and our firefighters at risk when you enter areas or use roads that have been closed by the Ashley National Forest or the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. You also run the risk of receiving a citation.” Officials announced early this week that with the upcoming deer and elk hunts, hunters will need to find alternate places to fill their tags if they planned to hunt on or use roads in areas that are now restricted. The Ashley National Forest has closures in place for Timber Canyon Road and Reservation Ridge Road. The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest has a closure in place for Willow Creek Road. The roads and areas are closed for the public’s safety and for the safety of firefighters. Closures will be lifted once it is safe to do so.
