Open House Meetings to Explore Uintah County’s General Plan

If you’d like a say in the future of Uintah County, an opportunity to get involved has presented itself. Uintah County has partnered with Rural Community Consultants as they work to update the County’s General Plan. “The General Plan deals with issues that affect each of our daily lives; issues such as zoning and land use, economic development, housing, infrastructure, transportation and public lands issues,” shares County Community Development Director Matt Cazier. “Now is the time for County residents to give their input on the future of Uintah County.” To start, a survey can be taken now atwww.UintahGeneralPlan2016.com. Citizens are also urged to participate in a public open house meeting.  The first will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, at the Eagle View Elementary Auditorium in Fort Duchesne from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The second will be held at the Uintah County Conference Center in Vernal from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, November 10th.

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
