Officer Laid to Rest

Local law enforcement were among many to mourn the death of a young West Valley City police officer last week. 25-year-old Officer Cody Brotherson was laid to rest on Monday, November 14th. “As we reflect on this,” shares the Vernal Police Department, “we take pride in his service and the service of all law enforcement officers around the world. As police officers, we take an oath to defend and protect our communities and our state, and each of us take tremendous pride in doing so. Officer Brotherson made the ultimate sacrifice and in our eyes is a hero.” Officer Brotherson was deploying spike strips to stop a stolen car last week, he was struck by the stolen vehicle and died at the scene.

Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU.
