Uintah Student and Athlete of the Week

The Uintah High School Student of the Week is Zoey Rock, nominated by Mrs. Bain. “Zoey is self motivated, hard working, and driven to excel,” shares Mrs. Bain. “I have been impressed with Zoey's writing ability; her vocabulary and word choice create a passion in her writing that engages the audience. When faced with a problem, she never looks for the easy answer... Not only have I been impressed with her academic performance but also her individual character.” Congratulations Zoey Rock, Uintah Student of the Week! The Ute Athlete of the Week is baseball player Kyler Murray, nominated by Coach Labrum. “Kyler Murray is an outstanding athlete,” shares Coach Labrum. “He pitched a 2-0 shutout with 11 strikeouts against Lehi, and a 10-0 no-hitter against Mt. View. No-hitters are very rare and hard to accomplish... Kyler is also an outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA. Kyler will be going on to play in college, but I know he will be successful at whatever he decides to pursue.” Congratulations Kyler Murray, Ute Athlete of the Week!

Kristin Baldwin

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
