New Vernal Location for “Let’s Talk”: Uintah Basin Cancer Support Group

There’s no way to measure all the ways cancer affects families during and after a diagnosis. A group of locals who want to support others affected by cancer have organized the “Let’s Talk”: Uintah Basin Cancer Support Group and all are invited to participate. Group organizer Cecilia Sullivan says this month there is a change of meeting place as the meeting will be held at Ashley Regional Medical Center. The guest speaker will be Karen Ames from Wellness Life Zone. Ms. Ames is a certified Foot Zone Practitioner and Instructor who will talk about the benefits of foot zoning for cancer patients and demonstrate how it is done. The meeting is being held Thursday, July 12th, at 6:00pm in the conference room at Ashley Regional Medical Center.

Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
