New Trial Dates Set for Accused Sex Offender

The jury trial in 8th District Court for a Vernal man charged with Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child has been pushed back to next year. 48-year-old Delbert Day pleaded Not Guilty on two charges in July. During a preliminary hearing on July 6th, the alleged victim was sworn in and questioned by the counsel providing details of the alleged abuse that took place in 2009 at the hands of 48-year-old Delbert Day when the victim was still a child. Based on the victim’s statements, Judge Edwin Peterson said there is probable cause on both charges. The Jury Trial is now scheduled for January 9th and 10th.
