Under the baton of guest conductor Dr. Anthony Maiello, the Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus will warm hearts this December for the new season of the organization and plans are already well underway. Dr. Maiello is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the American Festival Pops Orchestra in Washington, D.C. who conducts on a world stage and is also known for his own musical compositions. “We are very excited to have Dr. Maiello coming to the Basin for our Christmas concert,” shares UBOC Director Debbie Spafford. “Already we are busy preparing for another fantastic season of concerts.” Auditions are now open for all parts in the chorus as well as the Children’s Choir. One exciting change is that ages for the Children’s Choir have been bumped up and now includes children ages 8 to 14 years old. All vocal auditions are being done digitally and can be recorded at home and then emailed. Orchestra auditions will still be held in person and are scheduled for September 23rd and 24th.
