New Economic Development Director

The Uintah County Commission announced this week the appointment of Sylvia Wilkins as the County’s new Economic Development Director. “As a Commission, we took a close look at the options available to us to fill this position,” shared Commissioner Mike McKee. “Unanimously, each of the Commissioners chose to hire from within, appointing Sylvia Wilkins to this position.” Sylvia comes well qualified for the job having worked closely with previous Economic Development Director Tammie Lucero. Wilkins has worked for the County for 5 years in the Travel and Tourism Office and the transition to this new position is also considered an advantage to the County as they work to consolidate and conserve resources. “Sylvia is very qualified and already has her feet on the ground and running,” says Commissioner McKee. “Her appointment in this capacity will save Uintah County time and resources.” In this position, Wilkins will develop a vision of growth and diversity for Uintah County to improve upon the economic base and support existing industry and businesses.
