The decision of contract renewal for Uintah School District’s Superintendent will be made in 2017 under a new board. Board President Mark Caldwell issued an email Wednesday morning stating that the item has been removed from the Board meeting agenda scheduled for today. “Yesterday afternoon, Superintendent Dockins and I met,” shared Caldwell. “As a result of that meeting, Superintendent Dockins released Uintah School District from the requirements of paragraph 8 of his employment contract. With this contractual issue being resolved, this item has been removed from the Board agenda…The new Board will consider the employment contract renewal when they are seated.” Mr. Caldwell thanked Superintendent Dockins for his desire to resolve the issue in this way. Dockins’ employment contract expires June 30th, 2017 and according to the contract, negotiations for a subsequent contract were required to be done by the end of this December. The emailed statement was signed by both Mark Caldwell and Mark Dockins.
