National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Uintah Basin

by | Dec 8, 2016 | News | 0 comments

The Basin is about to be splashed in blue as a show of support for local law enforcement.
January 9th
is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and Elizabeth Mathews of Duchesne County is leading the plans to see that Uintah Basin officers are included. As the wife of a Duchesne County Sheriff’s Officer, national violence targeting police inspired Elizabeth to get involved over the summer. Since then, sponsors have been secured and city and county officials signed on. “This is about honoring the ones acting and serving right now in our community,” explains Elizabeth. “Everyone has really embraced it.” The events will kick off
on January 6th from 11am to 3pm
when the public is invited from Duchesne to Naples City to help tie ribbons down Main Streets throughout the Basin. More events including an appreciation dinner is being held
on January 9th
to include all law enforcement officers in the Uintah Basin. Business sponsors are still needed. Any wanting to be involved can contact Elizabeth at
