After taking a year off, Naples City has renewed their support to the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce. Naples City Council met on Thursday night and renewed their $20,000 dollar annual agreement with the organization. Uintah County and Vernal City are also main sponsors of the Chamber, citing the vast benefits to the public and business community at large. A study released last fall estimated that the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce provides $365,000 dollars in annual public benefit alone and that amount is considered to just be scratching the surface. Uintah County renewed their sponsorship with the Chamber in December, continuing their $50,000 dollar annual contribution. Vernal City renewed their sponsorship with the Vernal Chamber in January, also continuing with a $50,000 dollar annual contribution. Public officials have emphasized that it is especially during times of economic downturn that a vibrant Chamber of Commerce is a valuable resource.
