Much of Dinosaur National Monument Still Closed

With Spring Break coming up, many families are making plans to take trips while others plan to stay home and just get outside. Unfortunately, some local options will be limited as Dinosaur National Monument announces that they are still under a considerable amount of snow. Even without drifting, snow depths on the roads are impassable. Harpers Corner Road will most likely be closed until May sometime, unless there is a dramatic shift in the weather conditions. Echo Park will also be closed during spring break. Deerlodge Park still has snow but is melting fast. It is recommended to use 4WD to get there. The campground and surrounding area of Gates of Lodore is mostly free of snow but the road to the area is a little muddy. The silver lining to it all is that there will be some great rafting when the season starts.
