Much Needed Rain Floods Roads in Dinosaur National Monument

Heavy rain over Dinosaur National Monument was a welcome sight Wednesday night even if it did result in washed out roads due to flooding. According to Dinosaur National Monument, the storm dumped nearly an inch of rain in an hour at the Quarry Visitor Center causing flash flooding in areas. The last two miles of Cub Creek Road to Josie’s Cabin is closed to all vehicle and foot traffic as crews clear mud and debris but the road is expected to reopen Saturday. High clearance 4-Wheel-Drive vehicles are strongly recommended for accessing Echo Park and the Yampa Bench. Island Park is accessible but 4-Wheel-Drive is recommended.
