Luttrell Barn Given Extension on Demolition Deadline

A popular barn in Moffat County will live another day. As the deadline for demolition approached, community members hoping to save the Luttrell Barn were given renewed hope this week when the Moffat County Commission extended the deadline to next spring. The Save the Barn Committee has raised around $30,000 dollars so far from the community but needs over $100,000 to  help complete the repairs the barn needs to avoid demolition. The Luttrell Barn was built in 1904 and has served the Moffat County community as an event center. Located at the fairgrounds, supporters of the barn are passionate that the barn’s historic value cannot be ignored and have urged the County to assist in the effort to save the barn. The Commissioners have $100,000 dollars set aside for the barn but more is needed. To support the cause, contact John Allen of the Save the Barn Committee.
