LaPoint Man Enters Not Guilty Pleas on New Child Sex Abuse Charges

A LaPoint man pleaded Not Guilty last week to new 1st Degree Felony child sex abuse charges. The charges were filed against 54-year-old Robert Karl Riker for alleged child sex abuse offenses dating from 1999 through 2011. Riker is currently serving time in the Utah State Prison for child sex abuse charges he was found guilty of in 2014. The new charges refiled in February include 4 counts of Rape of a Child, 2 counts of Sodomy of a Child and 2 counts of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child; all 1st degree felonies. Riker was advised of the charges and appointed a defense attorney during a video court appearance with Judge Edwin Peterson on
