Incident at Altamont High School Under Investigation

An incident that took place at Altamont High School last week remains under investigation. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Thursday, September 7th, in the parking lot of the high school. “The incident involves two Altamont High School students,” shares the release, “one of whom was initially arrested for investigation of misdemeanor charges of unlawful detention, possession of a weapon on school property, brandishing a weapon, reckless driving, and interruption of a communications device.” As of Tuesday morning, the case had not been sent to the Duchesne County Attorney’s Office to be screened for formal charges because the Sheriff’s Office investigation is still underway. The name of the arrested individual has not been released due to the ongoing status of the investigation.
