Weather enthusiasts in the Vernal area will finally have their chance to become an official storm spotter for the National Weather Service. Classes have been offered throughout the region but the Vernal class had been unscheduled and delayed throughout the spring and summer. National Weather Service has just announced however that a free storm spotter training has now been scheduled onThursday, August 11th at the Public Safety Complex 3rd floor training room in Vernal at 6:00pm. The basic training will be followed by an optional advanced class from 8:00 to 9:00pm. The training is being hosted by the Uintah County Office of Emergency Management and taught by National Weather Service representatives from Grand Junction. For more information, call
