An improvement project last week at the Ashley National Forest Firehole Campground was a success. A hardworking team of Forest Service employees came together on September 12th with the goal to improve the Firehole Campground within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. “The project worked to refurbish picnic tables by replacing worn boards with new boards and materials and paint,” shares the Ashley National Forest announcement. “Fire pits and barbeque grills were cleaned and information signs were replaced. The project cost approximately $4,000 dollars in materials and tools. Funding was acquired from proceeds from the sale of Flaming Gorge Passes.” The group was assisted by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department because the campground is in the Wyoming portion of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation area.
