After several years of construction, the Vernal Regional Airport runway project is now in its final steps which will close the runway for several days next week. According to airport manager Doug Brown, the final steps of the runway construction process is to seal, coat, and paint the runway with the permanent coat. “Unfortunately, this will take several days and so the runway will need to be closed Tuesday, May 29th, at noon until Saturday, June 2nd, at 7pm,” shares Brown. “If you have flights during that time, please contact Boutique Air. We appreciate everyone’s patience.” The airport will remain open for business but the runway will be temporarily shut down. The transition from Boutique Air to SkyWest is on target and will take place in June. The terminal building remodel will be done this week, says Brown. With the runway project in its final stages, all involved are getting excited. Visit
