Names have been released of the two men killed in a head on collision on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Highway 13, eleven miles north of Rifle. Traffic was delayed for over 6 hours during the investigation and cleanup. A 79-year-old Craig man was attempting to pass a semi when he changed his mind. While returning to his lane, his vehicle struck the rear of the semi he was trying to pass. His vehicle then entered oncoming traffic and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 51-year-old Roosevelt man. Both men received fatal injuries. The Garfield County coroner identified the two men as 79-year-old Dewey J. Tafoya of Craig and 59-year-old Nathan Nazer of Roosevelt. Our condolences to both families.
