Famous Utah Artist Commissioned for Basin Themed Painting

A famous Utah artist will soon be focusing his creative energy on capturing the magic of the Uintah Basin. Eric Dowdle is known for his folk art often sold in the form of puzzles but more recently receiving attention for the TV show Painting the Town with Eric Dowdle, now in its second season of production. During the Zions Bank Centennial Celebration last week of the company’s historic Vernal location, it was announced that Eric Dowdle has been commissioned to do a painting incorporating people and places from around the Basin with the historic “brick-by-mail” building as the picture’s centerpiece. As a big supporter of the arts, Zions Bank CEO Scott Anderson arranged for the Dowdle painting that will be on display in the Vernal branch location. The painting will be a 35 by 40 inch piece that in the end will be donated to Vernal City.
