Energy Summit

It’s time again for the Uintah Basin Energy Summit and this year’s 2day event is more than just updates from the local energy industry. The event, scheduled August 31st to September 1st, is hosting a community activity on its first night. Country rock band Little Texas will be performing at the Western Park Ampitheater at a reduced ticket price for the public as a show of thanks for the community’s support of the energy industry. While the concert will entertain, the lineup of speakers at the Energy Summit itself is impressive. Governor Gary Herbert and Congressman Rob Bishop will both be speaking as well as 20 other energy industry leaders offering the latest information on local energy development and outlook. To get registered, visit the Uintah County website at www.co.uintah.ut.us or call 4357810771 for more information.

Kristin never planned to work in news radio but has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the news team at KVEL. Her love of literature and writing developed in high school which led her to study English Literature and Technical Writing at BYU. She received her BA in English from BYU in 2005 and studied at UVU in Orem for 2 semesters to become a Certified Technical Writer in 2006. Two months after completion she began her dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  As mother of 2 energetic kids, she began writing from home for the KVEL news team in 2011 and considers it the perfect fit as a full time mom and part time writer.
