Eggleston Charged With Felony Automobile Homicide in 8th District Court

A Vernal man arrested over the weekend after a fatal boating accident on Flaming Gorge has officially been charged in 8th District Court. 24-year-old Corey Dale Eggleston is facing charges of 3rd Degree Felony Automobile Homicide – Causing Death With an Alcohol Content Greater Than .05 and Class B Misdemeanor DUI. According to Court Documents, a Daggett County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a possible drowning on Flaming Gorge Reservoir at approximately 1:30pm on May 11th. Eggleston had been driving a boat with two other men on it when he allegedly made a hard left turn causing the boat to take on water and causing all three men to go overboard without life vests on. One of the men drowned. Eggleston was booked into Uintah County Jail with bail set at $26,460 dollars. The name of the deceased third party was not released. Eggleston posted bail on Tuesday. He is scheduled for an Initial Appearance in 8th District Court
on June 7th.
