DWR Recommending New Hunts

by | Oct 31, 2016 | News | 0 comments

The Division of Wildlife Resources plan to recommend new big game opportunities in 2017. Biologists plan to include additional management buck deer hunts and mountain goat hunts as well as more chances to hunt deer with muzzleloaders after the general rifle hunt is over. Meetings are being held to consider the proposals and feedback is encouraged. The meeting for the northeastern region will be held on November 17th at 6:30pm at the DWR office in Vernal. Management hunts like those being proposed allow the DWR to better manage the growing deer population by reducing the number of bucks. For more information on the proposed hunts, visit
