Local law agencies are wishing the community a Merry Christmas and safe New Year. Extra DUI patrols will continue through the holidays. “We typically have extra DUI patrols during the holiday season coinciding with Christmas parties and gatherings,” shares Uintah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Fletcher. “We like to urge folks to have a good time and enjoy themselves, but be responsible. Designated drivers and cabs are always a good choice if the decision is made to consume alcohol.” Highway Patrol will also have additional DUI patrols through the holidays with Sgt. Kellie Oaks warning that there is no tolerance for drinking and driving on Basin roads.
